Job Title: Unarmed Security Guard

Location: Houston

Job Type: Full-Time/Part-Time

Reports To: Security Supervisor/Manager

Salary Range: $10/hr.

Shift: Shifts are 24 hours but must be available to work all shifts.

Job Summary:

We are seeking vigilant and responsible Unarmed Security Guards to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for protecting premises, assets, and personnel by maintaining a safe and secure environment. The Unarmed Security Guard will monitor and patrol assigned areas, prevent illegal or inappropriate actions, and provide a visible deterrent to potential threats. This role requires excellent communication, attention to detail, and the ability to respond calmly and effectively to incidents.

Key Responsibilities:

• Patrol and Monitor: Regularly patrol assigned areas, including buildings, facilities, and outdoor areas, to ensure the safety and security of the premises.
• Access Control: Manage access points, check credentials, and authorize or deny entry to unauthorized individuals.
• Incident Response: Respond promptly to alarms, emergencies, disturbances, and any unusual activity efficiently and professionally.
• Observation and Reporting: Monitor surveillance equipment, inspect the property, and report any security breaches, hazards, or irregularities.
• Customer Service: Greet visitors, employees, and vendors professionally, offering assistance as needed, while upholding the organization's security standards.
• Deterrence and Conflict Resolution: Act as a visible deterrent to potential threats and provide non-physical conflict resolution when situations arise.
• Documentation: Accurately record and report daily activities, incidents, and observations in detailed reports.
• Cooperation with Authorities: Liaise with law enforcement, emergency personnel, and other relevant authorities when necessary.
• Compliance: Adhere to all company policies, local laws, and security regulations.

Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• State-issued Security Guard License preferred.
• Previous experience in security or customer service is preferred but not required.
• Excellent observational and decision-making skills.
• Strong verbal and written communication abilities.
• Ability to maintain calm under pressure and handle stressful situations effectively.
• Basic proficiency with security equipment and technology (surveillance systems, access control software, etc.).
• Must be able to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to stand or walk for extended periods.
• Ability to lift 25 pounds.
• Must be able to respond quickly to situations and incidents.
