Excellent understanding of System z architecture and strong experience with IBM z/OS operating system.
Performance tuning & Development of operational procedures
Experience with IBM and OEM utilities, catalog management, Rexx, RMF, SMF, SAS, MXG, HMC, JES2, DFSMS, Flashcopy
Knowledge of Coupling facility support, High Availability and Automation
Experience/knowledge of parallel sysplex (GDPS), IBM system utilities
Experience managing incidents on z/OS related issues, with emphasis on performance and tuning
Ability to work and cross-team with members across the Mainframe Engineering team
Demonstrated proficiency in basic computer applications, such as Microsoft Office software product suite
On-call rotation / weekend work required

Knowledge on DFSMS (DFSMShsm / DFSMSdss), Flashcopy, ICF Catalogs, HCD

Experience with system indicators (logs, dumps, error) logs for pro-active management of system problems
Hardware knowledge on large-scale hardware vendors (IBM, Brocade, Cisco)
Experience in managing IBM (DS8000) storage including replication monitoring
Experience with IBM Virtual Tape Management Systems (VTS) including replication monitoring
Experience/knowledge of parallel sysplex (GDPS), catalog management, IBM system utilities
Administer 3rd-party storage systems software
Demonstrated proficiency in basic computer applications, such as Microsoft Office software product suite
