License Practical Nurse, LPN LVN (RN) - Correctional Facility

Job Type: Contract Agency Full-Time/Part-Time/Temporary

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse to join our team and support the health and well-being of our facility’s residents.

As a LPN / LVN, you will be responsible for delivering comprehensive nursing care to inmates, addressing a wide range of medical needs in a correctional setting. Your role will involve assessing patient health, administering treatments, and collaborating with other healthcare professionals while adhering to facility protocols and maintaining security.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct initial health assessments and ongoing evaluations of inmates.
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians.
• Monitor and document vital signs, symptoms, and responses to treatments.
• Provide emergency medical care and triage when necessary.
• Develop and implement individualized care plans in collaboration with healthcare team members.
• Educate inmates on health management, medication adherence, and preventive care.
• Ensure proper documentation and compliance with healthcare regulations and facility policies.
• Maintain strict adherence to safety and security protocols.
• Respond to medical emergencies and assist in managing chronic conditions.
• Coordinate with external healthcare providers and services as needed.
• Participate in facility health education programs and inmate health screenings.

Qualifications:

• Valid Licensed Practical Nurse Nurse - LPN, LVN license
• Associate’s Degree in Nursing (ADN) acceptable.
• Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification; ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certification is a plus.
• Prior experience in a correctional or similar setting is preferred but not required.
• Strong clinical skills with the ability to work effectively under pressure.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to handle challenging and potentially volatile situations with professionalism.
• Understanding of and adherence to security procedures and confidentiality requirements.
