Job Description



Provide financial leadership for the Sika Sarnafil Roofing and Liquid Applied Membrane business units as well as maintain the accuracy of the CO (controlling) module of SAP for these businesses. Provide financial management support to the Sales Management Team.
Area of Responsibility: Sika Sarnafil Roofing Business Unit and Liquid Applied Membrane Business Unit. Two direct reports.

Specific Responsibilities:

  • Implement and ensure compliance for all controlling policies.
  • Manage the monthly closing process adhering to all timelines. Assemble, measure, report, and present monthly business unit and segment P&L’s as well as variance results to local management and Corporate Controlling.
  • Develop, analyze, and interpret statistical information for monthly reporting of key financial data (KPI’s).
  • Ensure accurate and timely completion of external reporting requirements (monthly, quarterly, and annually) for both forecast and actual.
  • Ensure proper general ledger coding of all transactions and approve (or reject) transactions as required.
  • Responsible for working with plant controlling to ensure inventory costs and cost standards are accurate. Manage all aspects of product sales pricing and margin management.
  • Prepare and analyze cost center reporting, benchmark metrics, purchase price variance for raw materials, inventory levels & turns (working capital management), obsolete inventory, personnel costs, capital assets, etc. Make recommendations for corrective actions as needed.
  • Track cost center expenses against budget/prior year and capital investments (RPA’s) against plan. Advise management and recommend appropriate corrective actions as needed.
  • Direct and coordinate the annual budget activities.
  • Work with department managers to develop short and long term financial goals; use SAP and other reporting tools available to measure the performance. Partner with department managers to improve financial performance and gain efficiencies.
  • Work with the sales organization to develop and provide timely sales reports. Provide financial management support to the Sales Division Management Team with a focus on market, customer, margins, pricing, costing, and sales growth.
  • Act as the business unit leader for coordinating with Corporate Controlling and Treasury ensuring that key business functions (customer credit, sales and use tax certificates, customer coding sheets, vendor payment concerns, customer payment and credit concerns, etc. are addressed).
  • Manage and maintain the sales reporting structure in SAP/BI (maintaining proper coding for Sales Regions and Sales Districts etc.).

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting/Finance
  • 5-8 years accounting experience
  • Expert in all aspects of the CO modules of SAP
  • Knowledge of BI (Business Intelligence) and of AFO (Analysis for Office) desired
  • Strong customer focus required
  • Understanding of marketing/sales relationship and requirements
  • High level of communication/presentation skills
  • Must have excellent organization and interpersonal skills
  • Business travel occasionally required
